Drilling starch (DS) is a modified starch based filtration control agent meeting API specification 13A. It used to reduce mud filtrate in most water based fluid systems. Drilling starch (DS) is functional in fresh water as well as saturated salt environment and causes minimal increase in fluid viscosity. DS is non-damaging and can be used in both Drilling Fluid and reservoir Drill-in Fluid applications.
